Tapestry Weaving and Knitted Flowers

So much to learn and so little time....I've been piddling around with freestyle tapestry weaving for over a year and now it's time to get serious with it.  From looking at the picture, you would think I was working with 10-12 balls of yarn, actually thanks to Noro slow progressive gradient skeins, I'm working with about 4 balls. So far, this is progressing nicely but far far away from the finished idea. This work in progress will be the only photo I show until the unveiling. Presently, I have 3 freeform challenges for 2013 and I haven't made up my mind which challenge this will go to.

Also, I've never knitted flowers, the beginning of another freeform challenge. At this time not certain which one either. :) Freeform is about working without patterns, but not completely either. The patterns to these lovely roses come from a book by Lesley Stanfield '100 Flowers to Knit & Crochet'. There is not only just flowers, but leaves, fruits, vegetables, bugs, and a couple of butterflies thrown in. A very handy book indeed.

I decided to add another photo to show progress of a beautiful bouquet unfolding.
